At Community Involvement Initiative, we believe that there is no better way for students to learn and grow than helping out their community. Not only do they learn valuable hands-on skills, they also begin to understand their place within their community and that they can genuinely make a difference in the world by improving things at a local level.

Our organization focuses on helping secondary-school students in Ontario fulfill the 40 hours of community involvement activities (volunteering) required to receive their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

We help students explore different sectors of the Canadian economy and potential careers, through the ability of prospective volunteers to filter opportunities by area of interest. We have volunteer opportunities listed under numerous categories that students can choose from.

The purpose of our organization is to allow students to learn how to best support and strengthen their communities, through the strict curation of volunteer opportunities, in favour of those which best provide direct benefit and enrichment to the community. This means that all the volunteer opportunities listed on this website have been looked at and approved by a staff member. It also means that the volunteer work that students partake in will directly allow them to benefit their communities.

At Community Involvement Initiative, we believe that everybody has a right to belong and feel like a part of their community. This means that every student should be able to serve their community to the best of their ability. This is why we have several measures in place for students that identify with disabilities.

Furthermore, the safety of students is of the utmost importance to us. Therefore, the volunteer opportunities listed on this website are screened thoroughly by our dedicated staff.
